Healthy aquariums / ponds in natural conditions
The correct water values in the aquarium/pond depend on the fish population and the plants present. Water may be contaminated even if it appears clear. With negative parameters, diseases can arise and algae form. To maintain a healthy aquarium/pond with conditions similar to natural ones, it is important to check and adjust the water values regularly.
JBL provides water tests for every type of water analysis in the form of rapid tests or color change tests. These ascertain a certain value or several values at once. With such water tests you can recognize algae problems and negative values of nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium etc.
In addition to a sufficient supply of CO2, iron and trace elements are essential for water plants. Given that well-growing aquatic plants continuously consume iron and trace elements and that these are very unstable in the water, even if in modern fertilizers they are linked to so-called chelators (e.g. JBL Ferropol, JBL Fe +Microelements), the content of iron should be checked regularly using the JBL iron test kit. If necessary, fertilization should be repeated. Pond owners should test the amount of iron in their spring water before using it for the pond. On the other hand, in fact, too high an iron content causes problems in ponds.

Marine aquariums: 0.002-0.05 mg/l
Ponds: 0.05-0.1 mg/l
