AQUARIO Neo Media HARD M 1 Liter is a premium biological filter medium designed for use in alkaline or neutral pH aquariums, offering an exceptional surface area of 3,200 m²/l. This ultra-porous structure provides an ideal habitat for a diverse range of beneficial bacteria and microorganisms, ensuring effective biological filtration.
Thanks to its split cylindrical shape, the media features variable pore sizes ranging from 1,000 µm to 2 µm, allowing water to flow deep into the material, where it can oxygenate nitrifying bacteria (typically 1–1.5 µm in size). These bacteria are critical for converting ammonia and nitrite into less harmful compounds, playing a central role in maintaining water quality.
Produced through a five-step high-temperature process, Neo Media HARD is built for durability and consistency, ensuring long-term performance. Unlike the SOFT version, the HARD variant does not lower the pH, making it ideal for African cichlid tanks, hard water biotopes, or marine setups.
Each pack includes individually packed live bacteria, which activate upon contact with water, accelerating the filter’s biological readiness and helping to establish a stable ecosystem more quickly.
