Very high porosity product for the control of nitrates through anaerobic denitrification. It occurs in the form of porous inorganic particles of approximately 4 mm in diameter. It can be used in a slow flow filter and even on the bottom of the tank as an active substrate. It does not require a special denitrifying filter and is also useful for controlling nitrites and ammonia. The surface characteristics of De*Nitrate, similar to those of Matrix, make it a very valid support for the biological filter. 1000 cc are able to treat up to 400 litres
How to use:
For best results, De*Nitrate must be placed in a way that ensures water flow through it, such as into the filter. The flow rate must not exceed 200l per hour. If a higher flow cannot be avoided, it is better to use Matrix or Pond Matrix. It is best to rinse off the powder before use. After using De*Nitrate for several days, the nitrate concentration should have stopped and the concentrations should gradually drop until reaching a nitrate concentration of approximately 4-5 mg/l.
As long as nitrate concentrations remain under control, the product is not exhausted. Each 500 ml of De*Nitrate™ nitrate treats approximately 100-200, depending on the initial nitrate concentration and the biological load present. The product simply removes nitrates as quickly as their formation. If the initial nitrate concentration is very high, it should be brought to less than 20 mg/l with water changes.
