Its structure supports both aerobic bacteria on the external surface, which convert ammonia to nitrites and nitrites to nitrates, and anaerobic bacteria within the pores that reduce nitrates to nitrogen gas, safely released at the water's surface. This dual action ensures a stable nitrogen cycle and cleaner water even in heavily stocked tanks.
Matrix is compatible with all types of filters and especially effective in sumps, canister filters, and filter boxes. Sold by volume, not weight, to guarantee consistent biological performance even for large systems.
