CRYPTOCORYNE LUTEA 'HOBBIT'
Cryptocoryne lutea is one of the easiest to care for Cryptocoryne species from Sri Lanka. The new dwarf form, "Hobbit", was isolated from a full-sized plant in the greenhouse and further propagated in the laboratory. Growing up to a few centimeters in height, this Cryptocoryne is also ideal for smaller aquariums. The growth rate is also significantly slower than that of the stem form. In good lighting, the leaves take on a deep purple-brown color and create a nice contrast to other green plants in the foreground.
