The stem plant Heteranthera zosterifolia is a stunning beauty in the aquarium. The bright light green leaves are up to 5 cm long and grow in an alternate leaf formation. Its requirements are relatively minimal, with good lighting and CO2 fertilization, growth is compact and fast. Regular cutting of shoots is therefore recommended. During our Plantahunter tour in Brazil, we saw the plant in the Rio da Prata over several kilometers of river. Indeed, in the crystal clear water, at a depth of 2 meters, we encountered lush plants. The Heteranthera is a plant rich in contrast between the central foreground and the background and works particularly well in combination with colorful plants such as Rotala rotundifolia.
