White substrate for marine aquariums of high purity and quality (grain size 0.3 - 1.2 mm).
Fiji White Sand is characterized by multiple positive characteristics:
1) Maximum purity
This sand is made up of 99.6% Calcium and Magnesium, making it one of the purest products on the market today.
2) Very white and highly reflective
Due to its purity, this sand is very white. This is an advantage for the resulting total brightness in the aquarium. Corals in nature benefit from a very similar phenomenon, thanks to the strong reflection of the seabed. Fiji White Sand is the ideal substrate for aquariums that house corals, always hungry for light, since they will receive a high percentage of light radiation diffused from below.
3) No more extreme piles of sand
Due to its greater specific weight compared to Aragonite, Fiji White Sand is less transported by the current and remains still.
Applications:
We recommend a bottom of about 2cm. When setting up a DSB, at least 8-10cm is recommended. Due to the small grain size, the accumulation of debris is largely avoided.
The sand should be washed thoroughly and repeatedly before being used in the aquarium. The dust present, which always occurs due to friction during transport etc., should be washed away as much as possible. It is recommended to wash the sand until the washing water is mostly clear and no longer white/milky.
