IODINE PRO TEST KIT

75 Test

Marine Aquarium Iodine Test

Instructions:

1. Rinse the vial labeled “standard” and the syringe with RO water and distilled

water and dry thoroughly.

2. Using the syringe provided, pour exactly 5ml of RO water into the

“standard” vial, close the vial tightly with the cap and place it in the aquarium for 10

min so that the water inside reaches the same temperature as the water in

the tank.

3. After 10 minutes, remove the standard vial from the aquarium and add 1 level of

measurement of 0.06 ppm standard iodine powder. Rinse the vial with the cap and

shake until the powder is completely dissolved.

4. Using the syringe provided, inject exactly 5ml of the water to be tested

into the other vial (sample vial).

5. Add 5 drops of Iodine Pro Reagent A to the standard and sample vial.

6. Add 8 drops of Iodine Pro Reagent B to the standard and sample vials.

7. Place both vials in the positions marked on the colored paper.

8. The standard vial acts as a timer for the reaction. Compare the color of the water

in the standard vial from above until the color of the water

in the standard vial reaches the color corresponding to 0.06 ppm of the colored paper. This is

the end point of the test, which will take approximately 5 -15 minutes for an aquarium at 25°C (77°F).

Use warm water to speed up the reaction.

9. Once the test is complete, look down into the sample vial and compare the

color to the color on the paper; choose the iodine level that most closely

matches the color. If necessary, estimate an average value.

10. The color in the sample vial will remain stable for 5 minutes. Disregard the color

in the sample vial after this time
