Tropical jungle giants in small size - that's how we describe our extraordinary Mbuna trees for the aquarium. The sandblasted Mopani root from southern Africa is particularly rich in structure with a characteristic depth effect. The "Colophospermum mopane", as it is botanically called, is a hardwood tree native to warm, dry regions. Its very hard wood is highly weather-resistant and can therefore be used well in both aquariums and terrariums.
The L-sized root is planted with three Anubias barteri var. nona.
After some time in the aquarium, it forms liana-like hanging roots, creating the impression of a time-honored tropical jungle giant in small format. With this root size, the aquarium should be at least 50 cm high.
Mbuna trees form ideal territorial boundaries, retreats and spawning grounds for fish. Tip: Antenna catfish love the mopani wood of Mbuna trees. No wonder they need the cellulose from the roots for their digestion!
