VALLISNERIA AUSTRALIS 'GIGANTEA'
The giant Vallisneria is a highly variable aquatic plant native to Australia. Its long, narrow leaves can reach almost incredible sizes; it is not uncommon for them to reach 3 m in length. It is extremely popular for use in discus aquariums and in East African cichlid setups from Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika. These fish require fairly hard water, which can be a problem for many plants. Vallisneria australis 'Gigantea' actually prefers it.
