HYDROCOTYLE VERTICILLATA
A highly ornamental pennywort with umbrella-shaped leaves, suitable for both foreground and mid-ground. It grows slowly compared to H. leucocephala and H. tripartita and prefers cooler water temperatures. We found some fantastic specimens in the shallow waters of the Rio Sucuri in Brazil. The water temperature there was 23°C, crystal clear and had a high CO2 concentration. Hydrocotyle verticillata looks very natural in the middle of a carpet of Hemianthus with its umbrellas sprouting from it.
