HELANTHIUM TENELLUM 'BROAD LEAF'

We found this grass-like beauty during our Plantahunter tour in Florida in winter 2012. At first glance it looks very similar to Helanthium tenellum (former name: Echinodorus tenellus) and is easily confused. The difference is in the color and width of the leaves and the growth height seems to be slightly lower. We called this plant "Broad Leaf" because the width of the leaf blades is up to 2.5 mm. The color of the leaves remains bright medium green, so it combines well with colorful plants such as Hygrophila pinnatifida. The care requirements are similar to those of the standard Helanthium tenellum. The lawn formation is supported by vigorous pruning
