JBL PRONOVO MALAWI GRANO M 250ML

Many cichlids in the lakes of the African Great Trench (Lakes Malawi and Tanganyika) have specialized in grazing on aufwuchs, a collection of algae and microorganisms, from rocks (herbivorous aufwuchs eaters). JBL PRONOVO MALAWI was developed for these species.

With the exception of these cichlids, all other species present are predators and feed on fish, microorganisms, shrimp and fry. Some even eat the scales of other fish (Plecodus). JBL PRONOVO TANGANYIKA is specially produced for these predatory species of the two lakes. When keeping both groups in a SINGLE aquarium, both types of food must absolutely be offered. Each species will thus receive the correct feed.

Typical predators of Lake Tanganyika: Lamprologus, Neolamprologus, Julidochromis, Cyphotilapia, Telmatochromis, Calinochromis.

Typical predators of Lake Malawi: Trematocranus, Haplochromis, Nimbochromis, Sciaenochromis, Labidochromis

The advantage of JBL feed:

Use of pure fish proteins without poor fish meal.

Ideal protein-fat ratio.

Proteins come mainly from aquatic animals.

The correct phosphate content reduces algae growth and promotes ideal fish growth.

Prebiotic: Prebiotics are “substrates that host microorganisms selectively utilize to benefit health.” Researchers are unanimous on their usefulness for digestion and consequently for health. In the case of our fish, another essential aspect is added: with better digestion there is less excrement, less polluted water, fewer algae problems. The water stays cleaner.

Since most of the Lake Tanganyika cichlids in our aquariums are predators, we have called the food for predatory species PRONOVO TANGANYIKA. Instead, the species that feed on aufwuchs mostly come from Lake Malawi, and therefore the feed for them has obtained the name PRONOVO MALAWI.
