Aquascaping is the technique of creating landscapes in aquariums. These can be fantastic plant compositions, reproductions of terrestrial landscapes or natural habitats. An aquascaping aquarium houses few or no fish and invertebrates at all. As a result, the supply of nutrients for the plants is reduced, limiting their growth. Nitrogen, phosphorus and other minerals are lacking and require targeted fertilization. For healthy growth in a beautiful underwater landscape, plants need light, CO2 and the appropriate nutrients.
Rich in minerals
ProScape Soils are special substrates that have been specially developed for the needs of aquascapers. The soils are not neutral to the water but have a softening effect. They make the water softer and slightly acidify it, so that the pH shifts slightly to the acidic side. JBL PlantSoils are very rich in nutrients and minerals that can be supplied to the plants immediately. ShrimpSoils, on the other hand, are poorer in nutrients.
Usage
Briefly rinse the substrate under running water to remove transport debris. In order to prevent mineral build-up in the water, perform a 50% water change every two to three days during the first two weeks after filling the aquarium. Since the influence of the water parameters depends on the original water and the intervals between water changes, the softening effect decreases over time.
