Underwater gardening

The term aquascaping indicates the technique for creating landscapes in aquariums. These can be fantastic compositions of plants, reproductions of terrestrial landscapes or natural habitats. An aquascaping aquarium hosts few or even no fish and invertebrates. As a result, the supply of nutrients for plants is reduced, limiting their growth. Nitrogen, phosphorus and other minerals are lacking and require targeted fertilization. For healthy growth in a beautiful submerged landscape, plants need light, CO2 and appropriate nutrients.

Rich in minerals

ProScape Soil are special substrates designed specifically for the needs of aquascapers. The soils are not neutral to water but have a softening effect. They make the water softer and acidify it slightly, so that the pH shifts slightly acidic. JBL PlantSoil are rich in nutrients and minerals to immediately supply to plants. ShrimpSoil, on the other hand, is poorer in nutrients.

Use

Rinse the substrate briefly with running water to remove transport debris. For the first two weeks after filling the aquarium, in order to avoid an accumulation of minerals in the water, carry out a 50% water change every two or three days. Since the influence of water parameters depends on the original water and the intervals between water changes, the softening effect decreases over time.
