ANUBIAS BARTERI NANA – Hardy and Decorative Foreground Plant for Aquariums
Anubias barteri var. nana is a small, highly resilient plant that thrives in almost any aquarium setup. Native to Cameroon, it grows to just 5–10 cm tall, with rhizomes extending up to 15 cm or more. It grows slowly, making it ideal for long-term aquascapes, and its thick, leathery leaves resist algae growth and are not eaten by herbivorous fish.
Best grown attached to wood or rocks using fishing line or thread, it does not require substrate and should not have its rhizome buried. It frequently blooms underwater and adds a natural, elegant touch to aquariums of all sizes. It is perfect for low-light or low-tech tanks and is often chosen for tanks with large or aggressive fish.
Key features:
Slow-growing and long-lasting
Thrives in low light and low-tech setups
