DipX is a highly effective dip for safely introducing new corals and live rock to your aquarium.
A simple 15 minute soak in DipX before placing a new coral in the aquarium will ward off unwanted "hitchhikers", thus maintaining the safety of your reef.
New corals often arrive with unwanted "hitchhikers" hidden deep in coral crevices. These various tiny creatures are usually invisible to the naked eye and, once in the aquarium, can migrate to other corals and damage the delicate reef ecosystem.
Over the years, reef hobbyists have used general bath solutions such as fresh water, iodine, and even household disinfectants, which repel some, but not all, of the hitchhikers.
Over the past few years we have grown tanks with infested corals and compared a wide range of commercially available dips and other repellent ingredients, examining both their effectiveness and their overall safety for corals.
The result is DipX, a unique blend of essential oils, without inorganic disinfectants. Our tests have shown that DipX is completely safe for all types of corals and more effective than any other solution we have tested.
Corals that were soaked in DipX still repelled unwanted “hitchhikers,” even if they had previously been soaked in other solutions. On the other hand, corals that were soaked in other solutions after being soaked in DipX did not repel anything.
