Silicates are the cause of nasty diatoms. With this test you can determine the silicate content for diatom control in freshwater and marine aquariums.
The comparator block compensates for the water's own color: fill the two test tubes with the water to be tested, add the reagent to one of them, place the tubes in the comparator block and read the values on the color chart
Application: in new setups, for checking running water and in the event of problems with diatoms
