 CALCIUM PRO TEST

Red Sea Calcium Pro Test Kit

High Precision Football Test

Calcium Pro Test Kit Instructions

1. Using the large syringe provided, inject exactly 5 ml of the water to be

tested into the glass vial.

2. Add 5 drops of Calcium Pro Reagent A and mix slowly with the

water sample.

3. Add a level measure of Calcium Pro Reagent B, close the vial with the cap

and shake for 20 seconds. The test sample will now have the starting

titration colour as shown on the instruction card.

4. Screw the glass vial onto the base of the titrant.

5. Ensure the needle provided is on the 1ml titration syringe and fill

with 1 ml of Calcium Pro Titrant (C). [see note on loading the titration syringe]

6. Insert the syringe into the centre of the titrant so that the graduations

on the side of the syringe are visible. The grades of the graduated series are 0.01 ml,

equivalent to 5 ppm calcium.

7. First add 0.6 ml of titrant solution (corresponding to 300 ppm calcium)

by depressing the syringe plunger while slowly stirring the titrant solution.

Continue to add the solution gradually, stirring after each addition,

paying attention to the color in the vial. When the color in the vial approaches

the final color on the instruction paper, add one drop at a time until

the final color is achieved.

Note: If you have added 1 ml of Calcium Titrant C without reaching the final color, the calcium concentration of the

water sample is greater than 500 ppm. Refill the syringe and continue adding the

solution until the final color is achieved.

8. Record the amount of titrant used (based on the initial and final position of the plunger, not the liquid surface) and use the table to calculate the calcium level in the water sample.

9. Return the unused amount of titrant to the Calcium Pro Titrant C bottle.
