TUNZE® LED eco chic refugium 8831 for algae cultivation in marine refuges or plant growth in freshwater tanks combines both attributes "eco" and "chic" in a perfectly effective and perfectly designed aquarium lighting at an absolutely fair price. In seawater, the green algae Chaetomorpha is an excellent, economical and easy alternative to many chemicals or resins to remove nitrates and phosphates from the aquatic biotope. Therefore, it is therefore sufficient to remove a handful of algae from time to time to maintain the biological balance in the aquarium. For this purpose, TUNZE® has developed a special LED that effectively promotes algae growth or plant growth in any filter or plant tank with its light spectrum.
The eco chic LED lamps with protection class IP68 operate permanently both above water and submerged. The special manufacturing process not only ensures water resistance, but also allows continuous use under water, which also saves on heating the aquarium. Underwater lighting prevents light reflections on the surface and the light source is thus more efficient –
it is sufficient to apply the lamp even just 1-2 cm under the water surface. Using the most modern components, a compact lamp holder has been developed that can be fixed in various ways with the Magnet Holder. Operation with safety extra low voltage allows safe underwater use without electrical losses. The built-in overheating protection ensures as a safety function that the lamp output is gradually reduced from 9 to 7 W at temperatures above approx. 25 °C.
