ECHINODORUS PALAEFOLIUS

In swampy conditions Echinodorus palaefolius var. latifolius from Brazil grows with a horizontal leaf base. Under water the leaves are narrower and longer (20-40 cm, and a rosette of 20-40 cm)

In the aquarium it tends to grow out of the water. This can be avoided by removing long leaves just before reaching the water surface. The next leaves will then be shorter and the plant will remain under water

In open aquariums the plant can grow out of the water, but the leaf edges often dry out if the air humidity is low

XL plants are already formed, robust and lush plants
