Made from 100% fired ceramic with Zero Leach technology, Genesis Rock blocks provide an extremely porous and stable surface engineered to support beneficial bacterial colonies that reduce phosphate, nitrate, and dissolved organic compounds, improving long-term water quality and stability.
Each block measures approximately 4 x 4 x 1 inches and provides over 23,000 square feet of active bacterial surface area. In the 4 Pack version, the system delivers an outstanding total surface area, ideal for reef aquariums, high bioload systems, and tanks with elevated organic demand. The internal structure supports both external and deep colonization, allowing aerobic bacteria to convert ammonia and nitrite while anaerobic bacteria help reduce nitrate levels.
The non-leaching ceramic ensures chemical safety and parameter stability without altering water chemistry. Blocks can be installed in sump chambers, refugium, under sand, or integrated into aquascape layouts, offering maximum flexibility. Performance can be further enhanced using Genesis bacteria not included, creating a powerful synergistic biological system.

Installation guide – Genesis Rocks setup:
Rinse thoroughly with aquarium or purified water
Place blocks in a container with aquarium water and add Genesis bacteria not included at 1 drop per 20 liters
Soak for at least 12 hours before placing in the aquarium
If not using additional bacteria, rinsing before use is sufficient
Recommended placement:
Aerobic ammonia and nitrite in well-oxygenated area with moderate flow
Anaerobic nitrate in very low flow low oxygen area under sand or in refugium
Mixed aerobic anaerobic in medium flow zone for differentiated internal and external colonization
