Hygrophila corymbosa is a fast-growing stem plant native to Southeast Asia, known for its ability to absorb excess nutrients, helping to prevent algae growth.

This species has several varieties, each with distinct leaf shapes and colors. The emersed leaves are generally darker and tougher, while the submerged leaves are lighter and more delicate.

Due to its rapid growth, Hygrophila corymbosa is an excellent background plant, creating a lush, natural look in aquariums. Once the stems reach the water surface, it is recommended to trim them halfway to encourage lateral growth and a denser appearance.

Propagation

  • Easily propagated through stem cuttings, by trimming the top portion and replanting it in the substrate.
