With an optimal grain size of 6–12 mm and exceptional porosity, it promotes the colonization of beneficial nitrifying bacteria responsible for breaking down toxic ammonia and nitrite.
Its microporous structure fully utilizes the filter’s internal volume, allowing a steady and unobstructed water flow. Beneficial bacteria colonize deep within the media’s pores, maintaining biological stability even after filter cleaning. FilterMAX does not need replacement and can be reused indefinitely, making it a long-lasting, eco-friendly solution.
Ideal for placement after mechanical filtration, it can be seeded faster by squeezing a bacteria-rich sponge near the filter. Compatible with all filtration systems due to its practical shape and size. Rinse before first use to remove dust. Avoid turning off the filter for more than 5–6 hours to preserve bacterial populations. Clean the filter every 3–6 months, or more frequently if denitrification occurs and nitrate levels approach zero.
