ELEOCHARIS ACICULARIS 'MINI' – Ultra-Compact In Vitro Carpet Plant for Foreground Layouts in Freshwater Aquariums
Eleocharis acicularis 'Mini' is a compact, grass-like carpeting plant ideal for creating dense, light green foregrounds in aquascapes. Closely related to Eleocharis parvula, this variety features straighter, needle-like leaves that remain short, growing only up to 5 cm, making it perfect for nano tanks and precision layouts.
It spreads through underground runners, forming a uniform grassy carpet that enhances the natural appearance of the aquarium. Eleocharis 'Mini' thrives under medium lighting and moderate CO₂, though its growth and density significantly benefit from high-quality granular substrate and regular fertilization. Its slow vertical growth reduces maintenance needs, as trimming is rarely required.
Supplied in Tropica 1-2-Grow! cups, this in vitro-grown plant is free from pests, snails, and algae. Cultivated in sterile, nutrient-rich gel, it is completely safe for shrimp, delicate fish, and sensitive aquascapes. Before planting, rinse off the gel under running water, divide the plant into small tufts (1–2 cm), and insert into the substrate using tweezers. In optimal conditions, it will quickly develop into a dense, low-maintenance carpet.
