LOBELIA CARDINALIS ‘MINI’ – Compact Cultivar Ideal for Foregrounds and Nano Cubes
Lobelia cardinalis ‘Mini’ is a highly decorative cultivar known for its compact growth and small, round leaves, making it an excellent choice for the foreground of both large tanks and Nano Cubes. Originating as a dwarf form of the standard species, this variant grows slowly and evenly, creating a lush green carpet that enhances the layout's depth and structure.
Thanks to its dense and tidy growth habit, Lobelia cardinalis ‘Mini’ is ideal for neat aquascaping designs where it adds soft contrasts and a natural appearance. Adequate lighting, CO₂ and nutrient supply support healthy growth and vibrant leaf coloration. The plant branches easily, and cuttings can be replanted at any time to expand the coverage, forming a charming, textured area of mini Lobelias.
This cultivar adapts well to a range of water parameters, tolerating a pH between 6 and 8 and soft to hard water. With a height of just 10–15 cm and a slow growth rate, it requires minimal maintenance and maintains its shape even without frequent trimming.
