TEST NO3 NITRATI
Reagent for measuring nitrates in freshwater and marine aquariums.
Nitrates, chemically abbreviated to NO3, are the final product of the degradation of ammonia by nitrifying bacteria. Nitrate is not particularly toxic to fish and therefore would not be a direct problem for their health like ammonia or nitrites are.
However, high concentrations of nitrates can block their growth or create deformations of the spine and fins and also cause serious algal proliferation problems in the aquarium.
