1-2-GROW! BUCEPHALANDRA PYGMAEA 'BUKIT KELAM' – Slow-Growing Epiphyte from Borneo for Nano and Foreground Layouts
Bucephalandra pygmaea 'Bukit Kelam', offered in the 1-2-Grow! lab-grown format, is a compact epiphyte native to Borneo, where it naturally thrives on rocks and driftwood along fast-flowing streams. It closely resembles Anubias in care and appearance, making it a reliable and attractive plant for foreground aquascaping.
The plant features dark green, wavy-edged leaves about 2 cm wide and 5 cm long, often showing tiny white specks when fully submerged. It grows slowly but steadily, and naturally branches out even without trimming, forming a dense and orderly appearance ideal for nano tanks and Scaper’s layouts.
As a true epiphyte, the plant must be attached to hardscape, and the rhizome must remain above the substrate to avoid rotting. This 1-2-Grow! tissue culture version is guaranteed to be free of algae, snails, and pesticides, making it 100% safe for shrimp and sensitive species.
Each cup can be divided into 6–8 small portions and planted with tweezers for a neat, refined setup. It thrives under low to medium light, and while CO₂ is optional, light supplementation will support healthier growth.
Main features:
• Compact epiphyte with wavy green leaves and white specks
• Slow grower that branches naturally
• Ideal for foreground or small aquariums
• Grows on wood or stone, do not bury the rhizome
• 1-2-Grow! lab-grown and pest-free
• Shrimp safe and aquarium ready
• Best results with moderate light, optional CO₂
