Flourish Iron is a high concentration (10,000 mg/l) ferrous gluconate (Fe+2) solution. It should be used in those cases where iron requirements exceed what can be supplied by Flourish (in the indicated doses) or when plants show signs of deficiency (such as short, slender stems or yellowing between the veins.) Plants get more benefit from the use of Flourish Iron compared to sources of iron chemically bonded to an organic EDTA substrate, where it appears in the ferrous state (Fe+3). Since plants prefer Fe +2, they must expend additional physiological energy to absorb Fe+3. It does not contain phosphates or nitrates.
Flourish Iron is ideal used with FlourishTM Flourish TabsTM. to maintain the right concentration of iron in the planted aquarium.
Instructions:
Use 5 mL (one capful) every 200 L or as required to maintain iron at approximately 0.10 mg/L. For small doses, remember that each notch is equivalent to approximately 1 ml.
Use MultiTest IronTM to monitor iron concentrations.
Add as needed, usually for new growth, or to combat signs of iron deficiency which include: chlorosis (yellowing) of tissue or veins
