Scaper's Soil is a special active substrate designed for planted aquariums. It helps to have slightly acidic water as most plants and fish find in nature. It is particularly suitable for planted aquariums and caridinai.
Scaper's Soil is made from 100% natural raw materials, carefully selected natural soils that provide all the vital minerals and trace elements that plants need on a daily basis.
The granules ranging in size from 1 to 4 mm help to recreate the natural conditions of the bottom. Its open structure allows for an optimal bed in which plant roots can easily develop. Mosses also benefit from this structure. The dark black color also helps to bring out the bright green of the plants better.
The special nourishing formula promotes plant growth but is not assimilable by algae. Nutrients are stored in the substrate and released only when needed.
Scaper's Soil has active ion exchange properties; in this way the pH is lowered and stabilized around the values of 6.0-6.5; at the same time the carbonate hardness is reduced to close to zero (depending on the starting values) making the water significantly softer. It constitutes a source of humic and fulvic acids which however do not tend to color the water.
The porous structure of the granules creates the ideal conditions for the settlement of bacterial colonies, thus transforming the bottom of your aquarium into a huge biological filter.
Its ability to lower pH and KH levels makes it the ideal substrate for caridinas that prefer acidic waters, such as Red Crystal and Red Bee.
Do not rinse before use and do not mix with other substrates
