The composition of the ideal feed for fry depends on many factors. The fry require important nutrients for their growth and development. The essential vitamins and the bioelement Inosit are relevant for strengthening the immune system and are therefore found in the feed in the necessary quantities.
For fry it is very important that the size of the feed is suitable for the size of the mouth. A feed that is too small is preferable to one that is too large! Adequate phosphate content is essential for healthy bone development. Phosphate and calcium deficiency leads to bone deformations.
When the fry are large enough it is ideal to supplement with live brine shrimp (crustaceans from the salt marshes). JBL therefore offers a complete program = JBL Artemio.
For fry, a distinction is made between fry of oviparous or viviparous species. The fry of oviparous species are considerably smaller and initially feed on infusoria (microorganisms) that they find in their environment. Many species therefore also accept liquid food (JBL PRONOVO BEL FLUID). Shortly afterwards they accept the fine powdered food (JBL PRONOVO BEL GRANO BABY or the powdered food from jar 1 of the JBL PRONOVO BEL FLAKES BABY kit). As soon as they grow a little more you can move on to jar 2 of JBL PRONOVO BEL FLAKES BABY. If the parents practice caring for their offspring (e.g. in cichlids), a pipette or a piece of hose helps to bring the food dissolved in the water to the fry in a targeted manner.
The fry of oviparous species and oral incubators are larger and immediately eat the food from can 2 of JBL PRONOVO FLAKES BABY and live brine shrimp (JBL Artemio system).
