ROWA phos is a new filter material for the elimination of phosphates, which thanks to its qualities is able to bind large quantities of phosphates through absorption without negatively affecting the aquarium water.
Phosphates (PO4) appear in the aquarium following the decomposition of organic substances. In the narrow space of the aquarium there are many substances that decompose such as excess food, plant residues, organic substances, etc. Although the presence of phosphates is necessary, only in very small concentrations are they not harmful. Natural waters not yet contaminated by man normally have a very low PO4 concentration, but obtaining this optimal result in the aquarium without the help of specific products is practically impossible
When the concentration increases, in fresh water an unwanted growth of algae occurs, while in marine aquariums the synthesis of calcium in calcareous red algae, in hard corals and in other organisms for which calcium is a vital element is blocked
Characteristics:
To keep these problems under control, it is recommended to keep the phosphate value no higher than 0.1 - 0.3 mg/l (P).
In sea water, the phosphate concentration should be kept below 0.015 mg/l (P).
Thanks to the highly active filter material ROWA phos, which can be used in both fresh and sea water, this result can be achieved without any problems.
ROWA phos should not be rinsed.
A slight red clouding of the water should not be a cause for concern as it is not harmful to plants and animals and is short-lived.
ROWA phos should be kept in its tightly closed container to best preserve its effectiveness
ROWAphos 100 ml: for 200 – 400 l of fresh water or 100 – 200 l of marine water
ROWAphos 250 ml: for 500 - 1000 l of fresh water or 250-500 l of marine water
