H&O KORAL is not just a simple food for corals and filter feeders but is a complete food management system because it provides everything the coral needs and as happens in nature, it tends to produce the right amount of bacterioplankton, without depleting the water too much .
It is complete with all the excipient minerals, all the amino acids and vitamins in the exact natural concentration, which is why it can be used as the only food product. However, in the case of animals such as LPS and azooxanthellate gorgonians which have high protein requirements, it is advisable to add any powdered/freeze-dried zooplankton to H&O KORAL.
Why is it ideal for corals?
For those who produce "ready-to-use" liquid feed, there are 2 possible solutions, namely making the classic formulated with water + zooplankton/phytoplankton + preservatives or starting from a protein hydrolyzate easily available on the industrial human food market; Both of these systems have 2 major limitations:
- the use of the skimmer inevitably filters the proteins. The fact of inhibiting skimming by inserting fatty substances into the feed only delays skimming but cannot prevent it
- in the mixture there are amino acids both in "L" and "D" form so not all of them can be assimilated by coral and instead they are very welcome by cyanobacteria... this is why with normal products on the market, there is often an explosion of cyanobacteria and corals that instead darken and lose color!
To avoid this, H&O KORAL, unlike other competing formulations, is composed of single "bricks", i.e. single amino acids and exclusively in the "L" form which is the only one assimilable by coral.
This means that the skimmer cannot physically intercept H&O KORAL and will therefore only foam organic residues deriving from fish faeces.
H&O KORAL, unlike other products on the world market, does not even need preservatives because, precisely because it has the same concentration of nutrients as natural sea water, it has a very low pH which avoids degeneration and fermentation
In small tanks that are usually underfoamed, the use of H&O KORAL can give miraculous results!!
